I encountered some new people who came to work with us. To us, they seemed younger. Therefore, I got a chance to learn a little bit about them.
It was Varsha, Reena, and Divya.
This girl named Reena, who sat next to me; she was quite talkative and had a lot to say about herself.
She seemed to love herself a lot. But following time with her, I found her to be a person who was self-obsessed.
She used to talk a lot to me about herself and her family while she sat next to me. She frequently discussed her likes and dislikes as well as incidents that happened in her family. She was filled with tales of the negative experiences of certain people. It appeared as though she had all kinds of stories in her mind and was waiting to share them with someone. Whenever she got me free for a while, she used to say something that was not pleasant to listen to. Many times, I find her engrossed in her own stories. She was such a pessimist that she was unable to envision any positive outcomes for herself.
There was something that she was unable to forget. She used to tell all of this to everyone, which was the worst part. Very often, I ignored her. When I could not bear her anymore, then I used to take a pause and start working so that she could understand that it was not the right time to talk more. That girl was beautiful but seemed sad inside. She felt anxious, furious, and worried all at once. She cried at times as a result.
Through this, we all learned to judge people. But no one knew that why she was behaving this way. People behave differently because they have gone through difficult circumstances in their lives. All of us have gone difficult and tough times in our lives, but many people learn from their bad chapters and move on quickly; however, others need more time. She belonged to them. She must have had some big issues with her family and bad experiences that had such a profound influence on her that she was unable to let them go.
She had a very limited perspective on life. She was unable to perceive anything beyond her life and difficulties. Despite all of this, she was unable to see herself rising like a phoenix from the ashes.
Varsha Rohilla, who was just 22 year old but had a distinct outlook on life. She came from a middle class family, and experienced several problems. She wanted a marriage with someone she loved. She had a really pure, childlike demeanour. She had her own story of finding love and starting a family.
The other girl, Divya, was very unlike the first two. She was a tomboy who wanted to be a company secretary. She desired to experiment with many things. She used to talk to me when she sensed something wrong there. This was all new to her. So I was there to let her know as much as I could. Meeting such diverse people at work never seemed unpleasant or tiresome, and talking to them often helped me learn something new.
