Follow your heart

I knew a girl named Shruti who got fired from her job. In those days, she was finding herself by making sandwiches with her favourite sauces. Even she was too good at cooking and making different dishes.  It was her passion. One day, when she was seated with her friend named Namrita, they both were fond of watching some cooking shows on TV. It was going to start a food competition. Through this, her friend suggested to get into it. At first, she was not convinced but had no option but to give it a try. To participate in this contest, they needed a team of two. As she had Grandpa with her. All she learned was through him alone. Her grandpa was a retired person and happily living. Now, they both were ready to give it a shot.

Now the day came when all teams had to arrive at their destination to cook. They got there and met some other teams too. There was a process of getting into the next level after completing each of one. And had three judges to see them compete.

After clearing each stage of the competition, they were so close to winning this. At the same time, she was helpful with others too. At each level, she was getting better and also people enjoying her food. She was too good at making sauces, and this was her great fear too. Some of her people wanted to know her secret of making sauces. During this journey, there were some who tried to steal some of her ingredients so that they can know her recipe of making sauce.

As they went through, they were competing, and the day came when they were one of the finalists. It was a special dish day when they had to cook for people who can promote her dish on social media too. This is the reason the dish’s name was “Social Butterfly”. With the help of some of her friends, she managed to promote it on social platforms and also got to vote for it.

The day came to declare the results. It was difficult to choose because both teams were too good at it. As the name came announced, it was the other team, and she lost it.

The interesting part was that she seemed neither sad nor upset. She had tears in her eyes but had a smile for the other team. Looking at her, Grandpa asked, “How are you feeling after losing it?” She replied that she was completely satisfied with the outcome. We were so close, and I gave it everything what I had. She was also curious to see what the future had in store for her. There was something special in her. How easily she found purpose in this journey despite not succeeding.
