A rainy day

I leave office at 6 p.m., as usual. A friend of mine was waiting at the bus stand and expecting me to come. As I saw her on the other side of the road, she was waving her hand and signaling for me to come fast. I could see that no bus was coming on that route, and every passenger stood there. So, I decided to take the metro instead. And I caught an auto to the metro with some of my officemates. We were three. The weather was chilly and windy, and I was enjoying myself while sitting in the auto.  I’d now arrived at the metro station, and just as I was about to board, the doors abruptly closed.

After one or two minutes, the next metro came. Luckily, I have space to sit, which does not come easily. During this metro journey, I was feeling dozy. I took my head down on my lap and fell asleep for a few moments. I slept so much that I could not find it when my time came to get down from the metro. This time, I had to board the next metro. There was a different scene outside, I found. While I was moving upward to the next metro station, I saw heavy rain pouring out there. It was such a heavy rain that I could feel it on my face. The whole metro station was smashed with water all around. Somehow, I managed to get into the metro and called my younger sister to tell her that it’s heavy raining here. As my phone connected, she picked up the phone and started saying, I told you to keep an umbrella with you. Why did you not carry it? I had no words to say. I smiled for a moment and hung up the phone.

Now, the time came to leave the station, but I waited there so that the rain might get a little slower. I had to catch a rickshaw from the metro station. But the road was not as smooth as it was before the rain. I found a path through which some people were walking in one direction, so finally, I managed to jump over the railing so that I could save my feet from being submerged in the muddy water that was on the other side.

Some were waiting for rickshaws in a corner of a street shop. Somehow, I caught the rickshaw, and now I could see the other people moving beside me. Some kids were getting wet and enjoying the rain.

During this rainy weather, I was trying to protect myself from the wet. There were also some who were not doing anything but instead enjoying eating inside a food stall.

On this wet day, a girl was enjoying a burger. On the other side, there was the one who was helping someone get under her umbrella. On one corner of the road, an ice cream boy was saving himself under his bicycle from the raindrops.

Coming a little ahead, there was a man out there; he was just about to slip as I saw him. He somehow managed himself, and I got relief.

As I reach a corner of my street, get down there. I took some stuff home. This time, rain was slowly pouring, and I put my bag above my head and just ran home.

While experiencing this rainy day, I realized that if anyone wants to live in the present moment, it does not matter where they are or what they do. You can enjoy the small pleasures of life as it was the rainy day, but a very few may have captured the priceless memories behind this day.
