How to let go past.



The habit of letting go

We all hold many things within ourselves, whether it's our anger, fear, hatred, love, and so on. This may have been with us for too long, and it hits us in a way that triggers many past events and their accompanying emotions.

In my understanding, there might be some events that do not bring good experiences into many of our lives. We have probably experienced it in our daily lives. We find ourselves between all the emotions and happenings that come to mind that we have lived and want to repeat or never forget.

Letting go?

It means anything that is hurtful or may restrict you in any way in your experiences. Letting go simply means that you want to be free of hurt feelings. Don’t we want it?

Why do our past and its memories come unexpectedly into our minds?

At the level of the mind, there are always some painful experiences that come into our observation and bring pain to us. Sometimes, we feel stuck in our past, and all of that comes to our mind with the same pain, anger, and fear. It’s as if the same story runs through our minds, where we feel stuck with the same emotions we've already experienced.

We identify ourselves with our past and expect that it should have happened or not. We clarify many things in our minds. Or maybe we can satisfy ourselves by evaluating the facts that we only believe are right according to us. By doing so, we always live our entire lives in the past. Don't we?

In short, we may say that the more you struggle with the past or its memories and emotions, the stronger it becomes.

Then, how can we find a way to let go of past emotions, thoughts, and pain?

There is a need to acknowledge what you have gone through. In doing so, you may find out what you’re having trouble with.

Further, we take too seriously our bad experiences and their accompanying pain, emotions, and anxiety without knowing that our past is actually dead and can't be changed by going into the past.

Can’t we see ourselves in the present situation, which has changed from our past?

We need to recognize and focus on the infinite possibilities of our existence. What can be done at present, and how can we create our lives as we want and perhaps in some better way?

It takes a great deal of intelligence to realize that anything that enters the mind, including prior memories, occurrences, emotions, and many other things, is just a thought. Knowing that it's just a thought in our minds can help us let go of it completely.

It may be possible to only acknowledge them rather than find ways to escape them.

The more you feel lighter about your past emotions or pain, the more easily you will be able to let them go.
