What is Personality?

In the last few days, I have been trying to figure out who I am and what my personality is. Are these both the same? I was asking this question because, since my childhood, if I look at myself, I am changing all the time. I am not the same. So, isn't it right to ask what personality we have? Don't you feel we need to understand what personality is?

If it’s changing from time to time, then what may we call personality? We say that personality builds according to our situations, circumstances, or events—what we have gone through in different phases of our lives. Is it?

Did you ever try to figure out what our personality structure is and how it is made of, as it’s changing throughout life? This makes me curious to explore it more.

People used to say that whatever we choose, whether we try to change ourselves or show it off, at last we need to come to ourselves. Maybe we are closer to ourselves, i.e., our basic nature.

Here, it’s important to comprehend who we are at our core. How are our basic nature and personality distinct from those we find in people?

As far as I am aware, we all share a basic character. Basic character is our habits, actions, and feelings—emotions that we all experience. Have you ever had a similar thought?

In simple words, we go through the same stages as children and adults, and the associated experiences or events that go along with them help to mold who we are at our essence. It's crucial to realize that our basic nature doesn’t change over the course of our lives.

It also comes to mind that our personalities are built by the environment, events, people, and information that contribute to shaping our personalities. What we consume or are occupied with, we become.

Basically, personality changes according to the situations or events in which we are occupied. Maybe we categorize people into introverts and extroverts based on the circumstances they find themselves in.

Still, we find many people who do not like to change themselves in any way, and some do not feel the need to stick to anything that comes their way, indicating that they are adaptable to their surroundings and have the necessary energy to deal with any changes in a constructive manner.

Don’t you think whether you are an introvert or an extrovert makes no difference to anyone? It's important to understand how you organize yourselves so that your intelligence transforms your possibilities into reality. This means how easily you put yourselves and adapt changes dynamically as you choose to be.

Perhaps after reading this article, you will understand that personality is nothing other than the decisions you make for yourself each day in order to make sense of this world.
