The Light You Left Behind

I still remember those days,

When I felt lost and quiet,

Felt like no light bloomed inside.

You came like a star—

The brightest one

In the dark.

I closed my eyes

As I saw you lit up bright

You held my hand tight,

Helping me move

One step at a time.

When my mind was shut,

You brought a game,

Like chess,

Teaching me a lesson

At every turn in life.

When time felt hard, you said,

“Do not forget to laugh.”

When I fell apart, you said,

“Rise, and make it last.”

When I ran out of words,

You became my voice.

Since then

I never forget to shine

Even when I walk through the dark
