Happiness is not having what you want, but it is the appreciation that we have

Sometimes, it feels like we often do a lot of things to make ourselves happy.

It may feel like after getting what we want from life, it does not bring the happiness we are looking for.

Or sometimes, the things we once thought of achieving do not bring happiness. Until we get things, we keep chasing them. Do we really pause for a moment to feel happiness?

Or do we move on to chase after other things?

In our realization, we rarely do reflect on the moments of happiness as we keep moving on to new desires.

After reflecting on this, I could find that how we rely on external factors or things to find our happiness. More often, we expect we will only be happy after achieving or acquiring them. Why don’t we think about what if we achieve it and what if we don’t feel happiness?

Why do we feel moving or chasing after more things to get happiness? Why don’t we see that chasing to get happiness takes us away from living in the present moments?

From this, I learn happiness is such a personal thing—it varies from person to person.

But one thing I am sure of: happiness comes from within.

The best learning is

1.      Start focusing on what you already have instead of chasing for more.

2.     Your answers are all within you, not outside you.

3.     Life always offers us opportunities, but when we are grateful for what we have, we find a way to happiness for ourselves.

Happiness is not having what you want. It is appreciating what you have."

I’d love to hear from you! When was the last time you realized your own happiness?
