Boredom breeds creativity

In our world, we always find ourselves occupied with something or someone.
Even in our free time, we do not think of wasting it. So we keep our minds to be occupied all the time. But do we really ask where we are busy? Don’t we find ourselves caught up in notification, distractions & endless entertainment? We rarely find ways to escaping from it.
That’s why we never experience the charm of boredom.

Yet, boredom invents creativity. Because we have never seen boredom in a positive way.
Do we really see our minds when they are not occupied with the flow of information? How the mind wanders, reflect and imagines. That stillness inside our minds, is in fact a fertile ground for creating new ideas.

You might have heard that many great inventions, stories, and art works has been born out of idle time. The human minds get relax or sit quietly for long. That space helps connecting thoughts in unusual ways. Questioning the ordinary and creating something new. You may say it helps in creating new thinking or ideas.

You can experience that our minds does not spark creativity while we keep it occupied.

Boredom gives us a break from routine, allowing creativity to grow without boundaries. Rather than avoiding boredom, we might benefit from embracing it. It is a doorway for many to go into deep thinking and explore something that can be begin. In those quiet moments, nothing seems to be happening, but everything begins.

Many of us avoid boredom as they feel agitated while experiencing it. It’s because our minds are not trained to be free.

Have you experienced such moment for yourself where boredom led to think in a new way?

Best way to achieve boredom:-

1. Put aside your phone, TV, computer for a while. Boredom starts when constant flow of information stops.

2. Sit or lie on your bed without any plan. Let your thoughts flow.

3. Start writing what comes in mind without any rules. This allows random thoughts to rise and bring new insights.

4. Embrace doing routine tasks, it can be a fertile ground for boredom. Because in those moments, your minds are free and hands are busy.

Without boredom, there would be no creativity”. - Susan Sontag
